About
Learning By Building
Bamboom began with a simple belief: people understand ideas differently when they can handle materials, test possibilities and create together.
We create practical experiences that connect creativity, collaboration and sustainable thinking through one remarkable natural material.
From Workshop Material To Learning System
Bamboom has developed through years of work with children, educators, schools, families and communities. Each build has helped refine not only the components, but also the questions, guidance and curriculum that surround them.
What began as hands-on bamboo construction has grown into a connected educational system: reusable building kits, structured learning resources, teacher guidance and professional development.
What We Are Building
We want more learners to experience education that is physical, collaborative, creative and connected to the natural world.
Bamboom gives children real materials and meaningful challenges. It gives educators a flexible resource and the guidance to use it well. It gives communities a reason to gather, contribute and make something together.
Meet The Founder
Klynton Lawrence is an Early Years educator with 17 years of experience in play-based learning, curriculum development, phonics, teacher training and creative construction.
His classroom experience shapes every part of Bamboom—from the practical realities of preparation and safety to the importance of language, agency, collaboration and open-ended play. Bamboom is designed by an educator to help other educators create ambitious hands-on learning with confidence.
Why Bamboo
Strong, lightweight, tactile and renewable, bamboo invites people to build at a scale that changes how they move, think and work together.
Bamboo has supported architecture, craft, tools and everyday life across cultures for generations. Through Bamboom, learners investigate its properties, consider its possibilities and connect construction with wider questions about materials and sustainability.
How We Work
Active Learning happens through doing, discussing and reflecting. | Inclusive Challenges allow different strengths, ideas and roles to contribute. |
Open Ended Resources make room for imagination, adaptation and original outcomes. | Responsible We encourage thoughtful use of natural materials and repeated reuse. |
